Level17

Level Goal

There are 2 files in the homedirectory: passwords.old and passwords.new. The password for the next level is in passwords.new and is the only line that has been changed between passwords.old and passwords.new

Solution

The diff utility can be used to compare files and show the differences.

Above we can see the line that was changed. The line beggining with “<” is showing the value in the passwords.new file and the one beggining with “>” is showing the value in the passwords.old file.
